All You Need to Know about Finances

Tuition

At Burn Bright we understand how difficult it can be to budget in random fees so we have eliminated them entirely.  Your monthly tuition covers your child's costumes, shoe rentals, and recital admission.

We do not charge at the gate for performances unless it is a service fundraiser. You will have the opportunity to see all of your student’s dances at one of the free recitals.

Tuition is due by the 14th of each month. After that, a $10 fee will be charged. Tuition will be the same every month, regardless of how many classes are taught that month or how many classes your student attends.

Security Deposit

A security deposit of $50 per family will be collected at the beginning of each year. When your tuition is late, $10 will be deducted from your deposit. If your child misses so much class that they require a make-up class, the cost of that class will be deducted from your deposit.

If your child quits dance in the middle of the year, the cost of any costumes already ordered and a month’s tuition will be deducted from the deposit. In the circumstance that you run out of money in your security deposit, we will have a conversation about how your student may continue in dance.

If you pay your tuition on time, have good attendance and stay in dance the entire year, you will get a full refund of your deposit at the spring recital.

Military and Family Discounts

Children who have a parent serving in the military get a 10 percent discount.

Families with multiple students in dance get a discount of 5 percent off total tuition with two students, 10 percent off with three, 15 percent off with four and 20 percent off with five.

Studio Standards

Attendance

Consistently attending dance class is of utmost importance. If a student misses so much class that they begin to fall behind in the curriculum or choreography, they will be required to take a make-up class. Make-up classes are $25 an hour.

Tardiness

Classes will start right on time. If a student is so late that they miss warmups, they will need to warm up on their own before joining the rest of the class.

Dress Policy

Students need to attend class in a leotard and tights. For any classes that are not ballet, they may wear tight shorts on top of their leotard and tights. No shirts, tank tops, skirts or pants. Just a leotard, tights and, when appropriate, tight fitting shorts.

Students will need to wear appropriate footwear. That means ballet shoes for ballet, tap shoes for tap and jazz or lyrical shoes for jazz. They have more leeway in footwear for modern and contemporary if they choose to go barefoot or otherwise.

Hair needs to be pulled up in a bun for every class. If a student’s hair is too short for a bun it needs to be pinned out of the face.

Costuming

We try to keep our costumes modest. However, if you feel a costume does not meet your modesty standards, you are welcome to purchase an instructor-approved leotard at your expense to put under your child’s costume.

Costuming is not an exact science. If your child’s costume does not fit, notify an instructor within a day of trying it on so we can have it adjusted or send it back.

Although we will try on costumes as soon as they arrive, we will not send your child home with the costume until right before the performance. This will keep it in good condition until they perform.

To keep costs down, some costumes may be rented.

We teach correct techniques and terminology for your child’s growth
